AISHE welcomes the submission of abstracts which address the key conference theme of Teaching and Learning in the Changing World of Higher Education. Sub-themes which could be addressed include:
The emphasis should be on reflection and evaluation rather than merely on describing what is happening.
All presentations at the conference will be assigned by the programme committee to one of two formats:
The deadline for abstract submission was 20th March 2007, and submission is now closed.
Each abstract will be reviewed for acceptance at the conference against the following criteria:
You will be advised as to whether or not your Abstract has been accepted by 20th April 2007.
The programme committee will assign submissions to either oral/workshop or poster format presentation, in the light of overall constraints on the programme schedule.
Authors of all accepted submissions (regardless of presentation format) will be invited to prepare a full paper for inclusion in the (online) conference proceedings. The paper should be 3000-4000 words. Note that at least one of the authors must be register for full conference attendence in order for the paper to be included in the conference programme and proceedings.
As a general principle and policy AISHE is committed to Open Access Publishing. Accordingly, we do not ask authors to assign copyright in their original works to AISHE as a condition of publication. Rather we request only that authors grant a limited licence which is sufficient to conform to our open access policy. The licence currently in use for this purpose is Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0.
Note that because authors retain all rights other than those explicitly granted by this licence, you are entirely free to submit the work, in its original form, or any derivative work, for publication in any other context (journal, book chapter etc.); with, of course, the sole restriction that you cannot withdraw or dilute the Creative Commons publication licence on the original work, as published by AISHE.
... don't forget the 15th ISL (Improving Student Learning) Symposium also taking part in the Dublin area, immediately following the AISHE conference (separated only by the weekend of 1-2nd September), to which you may also wish to consider making a submission.
