This paper will outline the role of the academic library in facilitating and supporting the learning process. Key developments in academic library information and service provision will be explored. This will include significant developments in the availablility of online scholarly resources and the increased need for information literacy skills development. The benefits of academic/librarian collaboration will be discussed.
