The fourth DIT eLearning Summer School will take place from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd June. Once again we're looking forward to sharing and exploring current eLearning issues, particularly in the context of the Irish educational system. The week is designed to be informal but informative, to meet the needs of academic staff who are interested in eLearning practice. A guide to proceedings is now available and please also feel free to browse participants feedback from previous years to get a flavour of the week.
The summer school has been extremely popular in previous years and has proved useful both for people brand new to elearning and for more experienced practitioners. The week is structured around practical workshops each morning with more theoretical aspects of elearning explored each afternoon. There are also practical hands-on WebCT training sessions at both introductory and advanced levels. This year we'll also be giving participants an introduction to alternative elearning platforms such as Moodle and Sakai.
The week is open to both DIT staff and the wider educational community but places are limited and early registration is recommended. A fee of €395 applies but this is waived for DIT staff.
For further information, or to book a place, please contact Dolores McManus at 4027866 or email dolores.mcmanus@dit.ie and please feel free to circulate this mail to any interested colleagues.
