Dr. Anne Crook
Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning, University of Reading, UK.

March 11 2004
12.30-14.30pm
University College Cork

Dr. Anne Crooke worked as a full-time teacher/researcher in the Biological Sciences in University College Cork. She developed the STARS website to help students become more research orientated. This was funded by an award for research into innovative forms of teaching and learning. She was a strong advocate of the Support for Teaching and Learning programme in UCC.

This led her on to make a career change. Anne is now the Teaching Enhancement Officer in the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning, in the University of Reading, UK. She is heavily involved in all aspects of Teaching and Leaning in Higher Education, and is conducting research in this area.

Anne is going to give us examples of, and insights into, the current issues affecting Teaching and Learning in the UK. She will give us a feel for the opportunities and the challenges in this area, both today, and in the future.
