President's Report
The President, Barry McMullin, reported on the
development of the Society to date. Highlights included:
- Establishment and maintenance of the aishe.org web site, including online membership
application, and the aishe-talk
members email forum.
- Current membership of c. 105: this is a significant
achievement given limited recruitment activities to
date.
- Securing of "seed" funding through the HEA (under the NDP), which has supported the
initial launch of AISHE, and a planned seminar
series.
- Agreement with SEDA to host a
major joint conference in Dublin (11-12 April
2002).
- Association with a series of other events supported by AISHE.
Election of Executive
The following were duly proposed, seconded, and elected
to form the new AISHE Executive:
It was noted that the Executive is empowered to co-opt up
to two further members.
The meeting recorded its appreciation of the hard work
and commitment of all members of the outgoing Executive.
Motions
The following motions were passed unanimously:
- Membership 2001-2002: That current
memberships remain in force until 30 September, 2002.
- Subscriptions 2002-2003: That the membership
subscription for the year 2002-2003 be €50 /
UKŁ30.
Other Business
- The AGM noted, with thanks, the kind offer from Prof.
Sally Brown of reduced rate registration for AISHE
members, for the ILT Conference
2002.
