Due to the number and quality of submissions received, we have adopted a 30 minute format for all oral presentations (20 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion + 5 minutes changeover). As oral presentation sessions will be running in parallel, and participants may wish to switch between sessions, sessions chairs will be requested to strictly enforce the time limits.
Workshops have been accepted in both "short" (45 minutes) and "extended" (90 minutes) formats: workshop organisers will have been advised which in their notification of workshop acceptance. Conference participants will be invited to sign up for workshops when they check-in at the registration desk on the first day of the conference. Workshop organisers should advise in advance (to Jeni Ryan) any maximum or minimum numbers of participants to be accomodated. Workshops will take place in parallel sessions, on the second day of the conference.
Due to the high number and quality of submissions received, and the limited time available at the conference, we were unfortunately not able to accept all proposals for oral paper presentation. In a number of such cases, the organising committee decided to offer, instead, an opportunity to present in "poster" format.
A poster presentation area will be set aside during the conference, where poster presenters and conference participants may informally meet to discuss these submissions. Poster boards will be provided for the physical posters to be mounted for the duration of the conference. It is at the presenter's discretion what format to use for this, but the space available will be approximately A0 in size for each presenter.
We appreciate that some authors, having originally submitted a proposal for oral presentation, may not wish to proceed with poster presentation. In that case, do please let us know as soon as possible.
All presenters, regardless of presentation format, are invited to submit full papers for inclusion in the conference proceedings. These will be made available electronically - online via the AISHE web site, and also on CD for conference participants. They will be fully citable as pubished in the AISHE 2004 Conference Proceedings.
To ensure inclusion in the proceedings, please submit your paper by Friday 16th July 2004 (note that this deadline has been extended from the original date of 4th June). Please submit your paper by email, addressed to: conf2004@aishe.org Submissions may be in HTML, PDF, or MS-Word formats, and should be approximately 3000-4000 words in length.
AISHE does not require transfer of copyright from authors. Paper authors retain the copyright in their papers, and may freely re-publish the same, or derivative, papers elsewhere. However, by submitting the paper for inclusion in the AISHE conference proceedings you will be deemed to have granted AISHE a permanent, non-exclusive, right to make the paper available in its original form, through the AISHE web site, on CD, or through any such other dissemination channels as AISHE may decide.
Presenters are not required to submit full papers. It is at the discretion of all presenters whether to do so or not. However, if a full paper is not submitted by the due date, then it cannot be included in the conference proceedings, and will not be citable as such. Accordingly, we strongly encourage all presenters to consider submitting full papers.
