Abstract (Words: 151; Format: short_wshop )

Sourcing information is a vital part of the teaching and learning
process. The sheer range of resources available - books,
journals, conference papers, electronic discussion lists,
databases and websites - can make this a challenging task.

This workshop will present the results of a survey of the
information needs of education developers which was carried out
in summer 2004. The survey aimed to:

* Identify and assess the importance of the information sources
education developers are using in support of their role

* Ascertain how education developers find out about new
  information sources

* Identify how education developers disseminate their research

* Assess the importance of libraries and librarians to education
  developers

* Establish how libraries and librarians can most effectively
meet the information needs of education developers.

There will be discussion of the survey findings and an
exploration of how libraries and librarians can most effectively
meet the information needs of people involved in education
development.
