AISHE Guest Presentation Threshold Concepts, Friday 26th February 2010

Speaker: Professor Ray Land University of Strathclyde

Professor Ray Land is currently Professor of Higher Education and Director of the Centre for Academic Practice and Learning Enhancement at the University of Strathclyde. As part of his work within the Centre he is Programme Director of the Certificate/Diploma in Advanced Academic Studies. He is a member and founding accreditor of the Higher Education Academy (UK).

The focus of the presentation is directly related to Professor Land’s internationally recognised research on Threshold Concepts and Troublesome Knowledge. He will demonstrate how understanding of this area will enhance student learning and help in the process of curriculum development. As Professor Land is highly regarded as a presenter, the event should prove both enjoyable and informative.
