Welcome

The All Ireland Society for Higher Education (AISHE) is an independent, membership-based professional society dedicated to the promotion of good practice in learning and teaching throughout the island of Ireland. It represents the academic community across disciplines and communities of practice and also those who support learning and teaching in general. AISHE aims to provide a platform for critical dialogue and sustainable engagement in relation to the core concepts underpinning the very fabric of the Higher Education Community throughout the island of Ireland.

Established in 2000, AISHE promotes the development and dissemination of good and innovative practice at our annual AISHE International Conference and in our flagship online journal The All Ireland Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

AISHE is affiliated with ICED

AISHE is affiliated with the International Consortium for Educational Development (ICED–http://icedonline.net) and the President of AISHE sits on the ICED Council. All AISHE members have the opportunity to sit on the Executive Committee and stand as Executive Officers at the AGM elections, thereby having the opportunity to play an active role in debates that influence decision making in relation to the future directions of higher education.
